Adipurush, despite receiving negative reviews from film critics, has managed to show slightly better numbers in its second week compared to its weekday collections. On Day 8, the film collected ₹2 crore net, according to Box Office India. It faced competition from Sara Ali Khan and Vicky Kaushal’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke at the box office.
While Adipurush’s collections initially seemed promising and it appeared to be competing for the top spot over the weekdays, the second Friday saw a more normal trend. The film’s overall collection now stands at over ₹125 crore net. Although the film suffered a major setback on Monday, it has managed to score some decent totals in a few circuits, thanks to its initial numbers.
Critics have given Adipurush largely negative reviews. Saibal Chatterjee, a film critic for NDTV, rated the film 1.5 stars out of 5, stating that the bloated and vacuous cinematic version of a part of the Ramayana does no justice to the epic or its civilization-defining characters at all.
