Engagement rumors between Bill Gates and Angela Hurd have been debunked by a spokesperson for the Microsoft co-founder. The rumors surfaced after Hurd was spotted wearing a piece of jewelry on her ring finger while out with Gates in New York City. However, the spokesperson clarified that the ring has belonged to Hurd for many years and does not symbolize an engagement.

The news of Gates and Hurd’s relationship came to light in February following his divorce from Melinda French Gates in August 2021. While their relationship was described as “widely known” at the time, the recent photographs led to speculation about a possible engagement.

Angela Hurd, 61, is the widow of Mark Hurd, the late CEO of software company Oracle and the former boss of Hewlett-Packard, who passed away in 2019 at the age of 62. The couple’s relationship has attracted attention due to Bill Gates’ prominent status as the co-founder of Microsoft and a well-known figure in the tech industry.

Despite the rumors, the spokesperson’s statement clarifies that the piece of jewelry worn by Hurd on her ring finger is not an engagement ring, and the couple’s relationship remains a private matter.
