Now that Selena Gomez has successfully shut down all those Francia Raisa feud rumors, fans are convinced her latest Rare Beauty launch is actually a jab at Hailey Bieber. Yes, this again.
To recap: In February, Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber got in major trouble with Selenators after posting an Instagram story that appeared to make fun of the Only Murders in the Building star for “accidentally” overlaminating her brows in a TikTok video. Though Jenner and Gomez both denied any alleged beef, the discourse caused Gomez to briefly quit TikTok and led to a massive wave of social media hate and alleged death threats toward Bieber, which Gomez vehemently disavowed.
This just keeps going, doesn’t it?
In late March, Gomez and Bieber even followed each other on Instagram in a pointed show of unity, but that may not have been the end of it. Now Selena Gomez fans think the Rare Beauty mogul is profiting off the entire ordeal by launching a new brow gel. “You know how much I love a laminated brow and I’m excited to finally share that my new @rarebeauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel is here,” Gomez recently captioned the Instagram announcement, which fans felt was a direct reference to the TikTok post that started it all.
“We are here for the subtle clap back on foolishness and spin it into BUSINESS MOVE!!” one Instagram user commented, while another wrote, “LMAOO THE CAPTIONS LOWK SHADY GO SELENA ILY.”
Here’s the thing: Despite near-constant feud speculation from fans, Selena Gomez really doesn’t strike me as a person that lives for this kind of drama. This may be a wild thought, but what if a brow gel is just a brow gel?
For what it’s worth, Hailey Bieber has not officially reacted to the Rare Beauty launch, but she may have just posted a response to her haters. On August 17, Bieber shared a cartoon meme from the account @superficialtech to her Instagram account, which read, “Unfortunately for everyone I’m gonna keep getting prettier everyday.”
