Jemima Khan’s film ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It’ wins four UK film awards

The film “What’s Love Got to Do with It?” directed by British screenwriter and producer Jemima Khan received significant attention after winning four honours at the UK’s National Film Awards. Jemima took to Twitter to express her gratitude and happiness for the film’s success.

The romantic comedy received awards in several categories at the National Film Awards, including Best Screenplay, Best British Film, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor. Jemima Khan, as the producer and screenwriter of the film, received the Best Screenplay award, while Asim Chaudhry’s outstanding performance earned him the Best Supporting Actor award.

Shekhar Kapur, the director of the film, won the Best Director award, and the film itself was recognized as the Best British Film.

The movie features a star-studded cast, including Lily James, Emma Thompson, Shazad Latif, and Pakistani actor Sajal Ali. The story revolves around the lead character Zoe, played by Lily James, a filmmaker navigating the modern dating scene, while her childhood friend Kazim seeks an arranged marriage with a Pakistani bride portrayed by Sajal Ali. As the characters pursue their own interests, the prearranged marriage faces challenges.

Overall, “What’s Love Got to Do with It?” received critical acclaim and was honored with multiple awards, making it a notable success at the National Film Awards.
