Jennifer Lawrence’s could not pass audition for the role of Bella Swan in the 2008 film “Twilight.” Lawrence, who later gained fame for her role as Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games” franchise, revealed on ‘The Rewatchables’ podcast that she didn’t even receive a callback for the role in “Twilight.”
Lawrence reflected on how her life would have been different if she had been cast in “Twilight” and mentioned that she landed the role in “The Hunger Games” about a year later, possibly after her performance in “Winter’s Bone.”
While Lawrence acknowledged that her life would have changed if she had been part of “Twilight,” she also noted that certain aspects, such as navigating being involved in a big franchise, were still similar in “The Hunger Games.” She emphasized the need to work on other projects outside the franchise to avoid being solely associated with it.
Interestingly, Lawrence almost turned down the role in “The Hunger Games” after witnessing the intense “fandom” surrounding Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who starred in “Twilight.” She mentioned that she had not anticipated reaching the level of fame seen in “Twilight” and that being the most famous person on the planet was never her goal or the life she envisioned for herself.
