In a heartfelt interview with PEOPLE, Wanda Rogers opens up about her late husband Kenny Rogers and the conversation they had before his passing. Kenny, who had been ill for several years prior to his death in March 2020, expressed his desire for Wanda to find love again and be happy.

Wanda recalls the moment Kenny paused the TV remote, a signal that he had something important to share. He lovingly told her that he wouldn’t be around forever and wanted her to have a fulfilling life after he was gone. At the time, Wanda found it difficult to discuss and wanted to avoid the topic, preferring to focus on the TV instead.

However, three years after Kenny’s passing, Wanda has found love again, and she believes it is a testament to their shared wish for their twin sons, Justin and Jordan, who are now 19 years old. She wants to show them that it’s okay to move forward and find happiness after experiencing loss.

Wanda’s openness about her journey serves as a reminder of the complexities of grief and the healing power of love. While the loss of Kenny Rogers is still deeply felt, Wanda has found solace in honoring his wishes and embracing the possibility of a full and joyful life.
