Elon Musk and Georges St-Pierre recently collaborated for a training session, and now Mark Zuckerberg has joined forces with a pair of UFC champions. UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya shared a series of photos on Tuesday, showing Zuckerberg training with him and UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, who had just defended his title at UFC 290 a few days earlier.
The photos depict the three men wearing training shorts, standing on mats, and Zuckerberg with his wrists taped. Adesanya emphasized the seriousness of the training session, stating, “No fugazi with Mark. This is serious business.”
Zuckerberg expressed his gratitude for the training opportunity in a comment on Instagram, stating, “It was an honor to train with you guys!”
Adesanya also shared Instagram stories that featured Zuckerberg wakeboarding while being pulled by a boat, showcasing another recreational activity enjoyed during their time together. The exact location of the gathering remains undisclosed, but Zuckerberg and Volkanovski have previously collaborated on a Metaverse virtual reality project.
In recent times, Zuckerberg has shown a growing interest in the MMA community. He has predominantly followed MMA-related accounts on social media, and he and his wife, Priscilla Chan, attended an event at the UFC Apex in October. Additionally, Zuckerberg has even participated in Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitions, highlighting his personal involvement in combat sports.
Zuckerberg’s increasing alignment with the MMA community indicates his enthusiasm for the sport and his desire to connect with its prominent figures. Collaborating with renowned UFC champions like Adesanya and Volkanovski allows him to immerse himself in the world of MMA and further explore his passion for martial arts and physical training.
