Hrithik Roshan recently shared a glimpse of his upcoming action-thriller film Fighter on his Instagram handle, which sparked speculation among netizens about whether the movie is a rip-off of Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick.

In the picture, Hrithik Roshan can be seen standing between two aircraft, with his hand resting on one of them. The caption revealed that the film is set to release on January 25, 2024, and it is seven months away from release.

Fans immediately took to the comments section, questioning whether Fighter is an Indian remake of Top Gun: Maverick or if it is inspired by Tom Cruise’s recent hit. Some expressed their concern about Bollywood’s tendency to copy foreign films.

It should be noted that Fighter is directed by Sidharth Anand and is said to be the first of its kind aerial action film in Bollywood. Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor are also set to play significant roles in the movie. Both Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone have been actively sharing glimpses of their training sessions, building anticipation among fans.

Apart from Fighter, Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming projects include War 2, where he will be paired with NTR Jr for the first time, bringing together two superstars from the Hindi and South film industries. He is also expected to reprise his role as the popular Indian superhero, Krrish, in late 2024.
