The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has accepted the hybrid model proposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the Asia Cup 2023. Under this model, Pakistan will host four matches, while the remaining nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka as a neutral venue.
The schedule for the event is yet to be announced, but according to PCB management committee chairman Najam Sethi, it will be revealed within the next 10 days. Pakistan is expected to play two matches at home and may return to the country for a super-four stage match. As India will play their matches in Sri Lanka, Pakistan’s only group match in their home country could potentially be against Nepal.
The other three matches in Pakistan are likely to involve teams from the second group, which includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. More details about the schedule and fixtures will be made available in the upcoming announcement.
