Samsung Display is showcasing several OLED innovations at SID Display Week, including a future laptop screen that offers an expansive display and a sensor-packed panel with fingerprint reading and blood pressure checking capabilities.
One of the highlights is the Rollable Flex OLED panel, which can expand from a height of 49 mm to 254.4 mm, providing five times the display real estate. The resolution is given as FHD+ (1,200 x 1,920 pixels), and the panel unrolls from an “O-shaped axis like a scroll.” While the width of the prototype is bulkier than typical laptop displays or computer monitors, specific details about weight and other specifications are not yet available. More information may be revealed closer to the product’s potential launch.
At the 60th SID Display Week, visitors can witness the prototype in action at the Samsung Display booth. For those unable to attend the event, a short video showcasing the technology is available.
