Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have confirmed that their deal with Spotify has come to an end. This means that Meghan’s Archetypes podcast, which premiered in August last year, will not be returning for a second season.
In a joint statement with Spotify, the Sussexes and the streaming giant announced that they have mutually agreed to part ways and expressed pride in the series they created together. The contract between Spotify and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was a high-profile deal, estimated to be worth around $25 million when it was announced in 2020.
Archetypes was a significant project that emerged from the Spotify deal, and the first season of the podcast ran for twelve episodes from August to November 2022. Although the partnership with Spotify has ended, it remains to be seen what other ventures the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will pursue in the future
